Scott Provost
Co-Founder and Principal

Scott possesses a multifaceted and deep understanding of strategic product development and marketing of biological research products. During his 20 year career in the life sciences Scott has earned a reputation as both a respected scientist, with over 20 peer reviewed publications, and a highly effective business leader, managing successful business units in public and private companies alike. Scott’s leadership experience includes directing research and development efforts, managing strategic planning, creating strategic partnerships, identification and integration of mergers and acquisitions, tactical product marketing, revenue and unit forecasting, sales training, and new business venture implementation.

Scott’s depth of experience has placed him on the executive leadership teams of several companies throughout his career. He is valued for his strategic vision and his practical approach to product development and tactical marketing. Scott is also regarded for his communication skills.

Most recently Scott served as Vice President of New Business Ventures for Invitrogen Corporation, responsible for developing novel comprehensive product brands and bringing them to market. Prior to this Scott served as Director of Invitrogen’s industry leading Amplification and Genomics business units responsible for P&L, marketing, product development and product management. Scott has also been responsible for identification, diligence and integration of several strategic acquisitions (DNA Research Innovations, Xeotron, Genicon), initiation of strategic partnerships (Illumina), and has been engaged in the broader integration of other acquisitions (Dynal, Molecular Probes, Life Technologies, Research Genetics, Novex).

Scott’s research career began studying immunology in transgenic mice at the University of Chicago. He then joined the Research and Development team as a research Scientist at Stratagene Cloning Systems in California where he was responsible for development and validation of novel genetic toxicology assays. He later became Business Unit Manager for the Toxicology segment responsible for Research and Development and Marketing functions. Scott also served as Business Unit Development Manager Taconic Inc. where he led the transgenic rodent services facility.

Scott has a BSc in Biological Sciences, specializing in molecular biology from the Evergreen State College of Arts and Sciences in Olympia, Washington.
